How the US is helping AQAP in their recruiting effort
When AQAP attacked ministry of defence compound on 5 of December 2013 killing at least 52 people. Most of the killing took place in the compound hospital. Yemeni state tv broadcasted footage of the killing campaign inside of the hospital where it shows guards, doctors, nurses, patients and visitors been killed in cold blood.
The broadcast of footage has changed Yemenis mood towards AQAP, even those who sympathise with AQ had to admit that this attack was a crime in all it's stages. The reputation of AQAP was hugely damaged in Yemen. AQAP has apologised for the hospital attack, this show that their reputation was shaking cos I've never heard of AQ apologising for something they did.
A week after the hospital attack, there was a US drone strike on a wedding convoy in Radaa Central Yemen, killing 12 people injuring many.
This drone strike has boosted AQAP reputation back and helped them in their recruiting campaign.
When ansarallah(Houthis) has advanced in AQAP territories, taking Radaa and AQAP stronghold(almanaseh)in Bayda. The US has use it drone strike against AQAP in an effort to damage the reputation of ansarallah by helping AQAP claims that "US and Houthis are allies".
The AQAP has called tribes men from all over Yemen "to help them fight Houthis and their allies the US who has joined recently houthi effort to attack Sunni areas".
The question here is, why would the USA interfere when they see AQAP already losing their reputation after hospital attack OR when AQAP losing their territories during fight with Ansarallah.
If the US really want to fight and get rid of AQAP then let the yemeni people do that. Drone strikes areonly strengthening AQAP.
Finally, what Ansarallah has done in 4 days in Radaa the US and yemeni gov has failed to do in 4 years.
